Two sets of board game inserts, for a friend. The only good thing about Wingspan is that it’s not Wyrmspan, in my opinion, but I’m not the one who paid for the files ($35 odd, on etsy) or the raw materials ($59 the sheet, from plyman). In this case I did not charge either laser time or my time - it was a convenient project to get used to running the laser with, any pricing wouldn’t be accurate anyway due to still figuring out how things work, quality could be better, etc. And also my friend did the dishes and stuff.
Material: One full sheet of 3mm birch/poplar makes two games’ worth of inserts, plus testing and the odd failure. Could have gotten away with less if I had my jigs and processes dialed in to make more effective use of the material, but it’s in running the process that I figured out how to do that.
Time: The best part of 12 hours over 2 days. To be fair, there was a bit of dialing in and figuring out, but it still took a while. There were hour-long cuts, the ones with the hinges. And some messing with the layouts in lightburn. So, could have gotten away with a bit less, but not an order of magnitude less.
